Introducing the Simon Drew for Cath Tate Collection
We’re absolutely delighted to welcome the brilliant Simon Drew to the Cath Tate Cards family! Known for his clever wordplay, dry humour, and distinctive pen-and-ink illustrations, Simon’s artwork brings a wonderfully quirky and intelligent charm to our collection. We’re proud to now be the exclusive distributor of 80 of his iconic designs.
Who Is Simon Drew?
Simon Drew is a celebrated British illustrator (and self-proclaimed "half artist, half wit") whose work has amused and delighted fans for decades. With a unique artistic style and a sharp eye for the absurd, Simon masterfully blends the everyday with the unexpected - always anchored by a pun, play on words, or clever visual twist. His drawings often feature animals in delightfully unconventional scenarios, brought to life with a signature British sense of humour.
A devoted dog lover, Simon has regularly featured his own pets - Plug, Rabbit, and Socket - in his work over the years. Keep your eyes peeled for their cameos throughout the range...
"I draw at every opportunity – both in my studio at home (a small space stuffed with artefacts that inspire me) and at work in our gallery. I never go to bed leaving a blank sheet of paper – there must always be something in progress."
About the Collaboration
As long-time admirers of Simon’s work (and self-confessed pun enthusiasts), we knew this would be a match made in greeting card heaven - and we couldn’t be more thrilled with how it’s come together.
To bring his much-loved illustrations into the Cath Tate world, we’ve given 80 of Simon’s designs a gentle refresh - updating the card size, paper stock, and envelopes to align with our signature style while preserving the original spirit of each piece.

Simon explains that "Animals have characters and I like to think I’m paying tribute to them."
